Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is taught as a final year subject for all students enrolled in BDS programme as per DCI curriculum guidelines.
The department also conducts modules for Local Anesthesia, Exodontia and Medical Emergencies in Dental Practice for third year students before they start clinical training in dentistry.
The department has 7 post-graduate students per year. The students are extensively trained in all faucets of OMFS and complete procedures independently before completion of their course. In addition to surgical training they complete 5 short term research projects per academic year and a dissertation as per DCI norms.
